There's A New Mall Location In Stranger Things Season 3

Even though I never grew up in the 80's, I've always loved feeling the authentic retro vibe that Stranger Things channels through its fictional setting of Hawkins, Indiana. Every little detail, from the vehicles featured to the signs in front of small stores has a distinctly 80's feel to it thanks to the hard work put in by the show's production team based primarily out of the Atlanta area.

Netflix hasn't set a specific season 3 release date, but at least they threw us a bone in the form of a the wonderfully old-school mall commercial teaser above and teased a possible release window. They hinted in the trailer that we can generally expect the new season to drop next Summer. Looking at the video, it's clear that the Starcourt Mall will play a major role in the upcoming episodes, which are currently filming. Season 3 will also introduce a new character played by Maya Hawke, the daughter of established actor Ethan Hawke.

What other changes do you want to see in Stranger Things season 3? Personally, I'd like to see even more of Steve Harrington (Joe Kerry) because he has so much depth as a character. He's not a one-dimensional bully and seeing him step up last season to help the kids take on the Demodogs and Shadow Monster proved it.

P.S. don't forget we've also got some budding romances up the show! Mike and Eleven plus Lucas and Max.. which are you looking forward to more? Cue the Eggo Waffle dates for Mike
