Prince Harry 'Misses His Family' After Moving Abroad With Meghan Markle

The Royal Family Attend Church On Christmas Day

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced they'd be stepping down from their roles as full-time working members of the Royal Family back in January. While it was originally believed the couple would be living in Canada, it's now being reported they've relocated to Meghan's hometown of Los Angeles, California. Though Prince Harry is reportedly happy with his decision to step away from royal life, the Duke of Sussex has been open about how bittersweet the transition was. Now a source claims another difficult aspect of this historic transition is how much Prince Harry misses his family back home in England.

According to an Entertainment Tonight source, Harry has been "staying in touch with his father and loves his grandmother," and that he "misses his family" now that he's so far away from them. Prince Harry has even been reaching out to his estranged brother Prince William, as well. Another source told Us Weekly that the brothers "speak, but it’s awkward.”

Prince William is believed to be upset that his brother's big move came at the same time as a global pandemic, which is preventing him from being in London to help the Royal Family handle the situation. For his part, however, Prince Harry is reportedly also feeling guilty about not being there during this difficult time. “Despite their ups and downs, hearing that his dad is sick with a potentially life-threatening illness is a huge wake-up call,” another source told Us Weekly. “And he’s overwhelmed with feelings of guilt for not being closer to home while this is all going on.”

“Like any household right now, there are ups and downs,” another source chimed in. “To his credit, he [Harry] tries to shield Meghan from his stress. So he’ll confide to friends in the UK over the phone.”

Even though Harry may try to shield Meghan from his family drama as much as possible, she's reportedly not that worried about the brothers' strained relationship.“Meghan told her inner circle of friends that Harry has been communicating with Prince William and the queen on a pretty consistent basis," a source told The Daily Mail. "She said this world crisis has actually brought them all closer together, especially Harry and his brother."
