Ben & Jerry's Just Rolled Out Ice Cream For Dogs

Vermont-based ice cream maker Ben & Jerry's is finally rolling out a version of their ice cream specially made for your four-legged friends!

The key to the new ice cream, called Doggie Desserts by Ben & Jerry's, is Sunflower Butter. The unusual ingredient is apparently better for dogs than dairy products.

The two flavors include:

  • Pontch’s Mix– which includes peanut butter and pretzel swirls.
  • Rosie’s Batch– featuring pumpkin and mini cookies.

As for the monikers, both flavors were named after two real dogs in the Ben & Jerry’s dog-friendly office, one of which is Frenchie, and the other a rescue mutt.

Dog owners can find the new additions in supermarkets, mass retailers and select pet stores nationwide. They come in four-ounce mini-cups or four-count multi-packs. Honestly, those flavors sound good enough for people to eat too and since I don't have a dog, I'll try one anyway and get back to you on how it tastes.
