In what may be a Super Bowl first, Hyundai teamed up with Friday Night Lights director Peter Berg to actually film an ad during the big game. According to USA Today, Berg filmed a Hyundai-thrown Super Bowl party at a U.S. military base in Poland during the game's 1st and early 2nd quarters before having the rest of the game to edit it all together and get approval from the Department of Defense, NFL, Fox, and Hyundai. The ad aired in the first post-game slot. Without spoiling anything, the video features an innovative surprise that connects troops with their families and the big game in a never-before-seen way.
