The Binghamton Zoo At Ross Park has lost one of their beloved furry friends.
According to zoo officials, Chica The Andean Bear was euthanized earlier in the week at the age of 28 after suffering a decline in her overall quality of life. She managed to outlive the average Andean bear, which has a lifespan of 20-25 years.
That longer lifespan is a testament to the incredible caretakers that she had and my heart goes out to all the staff who grew so close to the beloved animal and her "incredible intelligence and sassy personality."
