Shawn Mendes is gearing up to drop his upcoming self-titled album May 25th and just dropped a sweet new collaboration with Khalid called "Youth".
Mendes premiered the new song exclusively on Apple Music's Beats 1 with Zane Lowe and told the host that "Youth" was inspired by some of the horrific terrorist attacks in Europe last year, especially London Bridge and the Manchester bombing at Ariana Grande's concert. To Mendes, the song was much harder to write because of its emphasis on the impact real world events have on others. It was a step outside the singer's common theme of love and heartbreak.
